Serge Conus ( Oct 17, 1902 - Oct 26, 1988 )
This page is dedicated to Serge Conus, my GodFather, my music instructor, and my Friend. I spent 13 year in his presence and heard and witnessed many things, especially his amazing life and that of an age that has passed. I studied with him; I feasted with him; I travelled with him; I lived with him. Except for his son and his friend Alfred, my accounts are probably the few that remain. I hope that this small effort will bring some of his life and age to our times . My accounts will be both those that I saw first hand, those that he spoke to me directly, and in few cases, those accounts that I have received from others.

Wiki has a short biography that he, in his modesty, prepared. Included are two concerts that he performed. The first concert is solely the works of Nicholas Medtner, whom he personally knew and admired. The second concert is that of his own compositions, which are characteristically Russian, from the period that he lived. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serge_Conus)

Serge Conus Compositions (December 1978)
The first 3 pieces are Bylinas, or epic poems. The 4th is a Passacaglia. Following the intermission, he begins his Vespers compositions, of which the first two pieces are currently included. The first bylina has technical difficulties resulting from the original tape being damaged. Hopefully the listener will be able to hear beyond this and appreciate the composition as well as the performance.
